Dammit

Yesterday, you wore no cap and gown. Your name didn't echo through the speakers in that room and bounce off the bleachers. I sat in the sun, wondered if you knew the significance that day might have held for you. A tear was shed for the proud girl i'll never get to be, for the cheers i'll never get to yell, for your parents who can't watch one more little kid hold the most important piece of paper he'll ever have, for the friends who couldn't scream for you in your moment of freedom, for the one who skipped your name because you were no where to be found, and finally for the smile on your face that you'll never have. I hope your smiling wherever you are. I hope you have a guitar, and someone who will sing along with you.  I hope you dream of Glorie and all she meant to you. I hope you regret the day she left, the day you moved on to that shiny, new piece of shit. Sitting here in your t-shirt, listening to the cd you gave me, reading the books you gave me, I'm wishing the world for you.
"The sky will never look the same again until you show me how it could be."
